Simea is Moana's three-and-a-half-year-old sister, full of energy and curiosity. She looks up to Moana and wants to be just like her, bringing a playful and loving dynamic to the story. Simea is described as a mini version of Moana, scrappy and fiery, with her own unique personality that mirrors Moana's adventurous spirit. Loto, another new character, is a bright young shipwright responsible for designing and maintaining Moana's ship. She becomes part of Moana's Canoe Crew as they embark on a journey to navigate dangerous and uncharted waters.
