Ranma Saotome, heir to a line of martial artists, is engaged against his will to Akane Tendo, the daughter of the master of the Tendo dojo, to ensure the continuity of family traditions. However, a major problem complicates the situation: during training in China, Ranma fell into the cursed springs of Jusenkyo, which gave him the involuntary ability to transform into a girl as soon as he is sprayed with cold water. It regains its masculine form only on contact with hot water. As Ranma and Akane try to navigate their difficult relationship, they are constantly disrupted by a multitude of characters as eccentric as they are dangerous, from romantic rivals to martial arts adversaries.
